How your final score is built
Practical marks needed at every grade โ for your theory score
This table updates live as you type your theory marks above. It shows the practical marks you'd need to land in each grade band, respecting the 33-marks minimum in practical.
| Grade | Weighted % needed | Practical marks needed | Status |

How the result is calculated
You need at least 33 out of 100 in theory and at least 33 out of 100 in practical. These are checked separately โ a high score in one paper cannot make up for below 33 in the other.
Once both papers individually clear 33, your final weighted score is calculated as 60% of theory marks + 40% of practical marks.
The weighted score must be at least 50% to pass overall. Your grade (F, D, C, B, A or S) is then decided by which band that weighted score falls into.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum passing marks in theory and practical?
You must score at least 33 out of 100 in theory and at least 33 out of 100 in practical, checked separately. Both conditions must be met regardless of your weighted score.
How is the final result calculated from theory and practical marks?
The weighted score is 60% of your theory marks plus 40% of your practical marks. This weighted score must be at least 50% to pass overall, in addition to clearing 33 marks individually in both papers.
What if my theory marks alone are too low to reach my target grade?
If even a perfect 100 in practical cannot reach your target grade's weighted score, the calculator will tell you the highest grade actually achievable with your current theory marks.
What are the grade bands?
Below 50% weighted score is Fail (F). 50%โ<55% is D. 55%โ<65% is C. 65%โ<75% is B. 75%โ<85% is A. 85% and above is S.
